Own Art (https://www.ownart.org.uk/) is a national initiative that makes buying contemporary art and craft affordable by providing interest-free loans for the purchase of original work. We are delighted to announce that any of the items available at the Fresh Air Sculpture show are available to buy through Own Art.
Own Art loans allow you to borrow from as little as £100 up to £25,000 and pay it back over 10 or 20 months, completely interest-free. Own Art is available through member galleries and events across the country for the purchase of contemporary art and craft of any kind, and in any media. That means buyers can choose more or less anything they want from paintings, prints, drawings and sculpture, to glassware, ceramics, jewellery, furniture and textiles.
Originally launched by Arts Council England in 2004, the scheme has enabled more than 50,000 customers to get access to the art they love. Delivered through a network of 300 galleries and events across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, Own Art has so far supported £40 million of sales of contemporary art and craft to UK customers. Own Art is delivered by Creative United, an independent Community Interest Company that provides finance-based products and services designed to deliver economic growth to the arts, creative and cultural sectors. Own Art reduces the financial barriers and perceptions of elitism that commonly exist within the art market, by making it easier and more affordable for people to access art, regardless of their income and socio-economic background. Own Art supports the UK’s creative economy by encouraging sales of work by living artists. Finance for the scheme is provided by Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance.
Own Art is now the UK’s largest membership body for contemporary art and craft, helping to support the sector to develop and grow.
