The King's Foundation logoPlaster Workshops

Esme Walker is a lime plasterer and Pargetter; using traditional methods, learnt through tuition from The King’s Foundation, she sculpts plasters into ornate three-dimensional designs found on walls and ceilings. Delivered by the King’s Foundation, we are offering adult and children’s workshops.

Children’s Workshops

Saturday 29th or Sunday 30th June
10.00 – 12.00am at Quenington Old Rectory.
Ages 7-11 – £25 per child

Create your very own spectacular plasterwork creation, learning from Esme, a master in her class. Children will collect objects (leaves, twigs, acorns, bark etc) from the beautiful grounds of the Old Rectory and push them into clay and then cast from the clay negative. The children will take home their unique artwork in plaster.

Adult’s Workshops

Saturday 29th or Sunday 30th June
1.00 – 16.00pm at Quenington Old Rectory, £60 per person

In these practical workshops you will learn about the history and materials used in the craft. Esme will demonstrate moulding in situ and students will be given the chance to build their own woodwool board to parget. After learning about the techniques involved in this traditional craft you will be able to design and model your own motif. Students will take away their own ceiling rose or parget worthy of a stately home.
