Henshaw, Nicola

Nicola’s work is inspired by fables and proverbs. Her timber is sourced locally from the New Forest, and she hand-carves oak using gouge chisels, combining it with hand-forged steel. Eighteenth-century prints from the pre-camera age—often featuring quirky depictions of oversized animals—also inform her practice.
