Henshaw, Nicola

Nicola Henshaw’s workshop is rooted in the heart of the New Forest, where she sources timber for carving. She uses gouge chisels, which have been her┬ácompanions for making for more than 20 years.

Made from oak, Nicola’s work is inspired by the 18th century tapestries and prints of a pre-cameral era, with its quirky representation of oversized animals.

Nicola has recently started to cast her carvings in bronze, the chisel marks still visible in the castings.
