Ewen’s work is almost entirely constructed using salvaged and reclaimed materials, and tends to focus on the less immediately obvious beauty found in nature. Often the properties of the material itself provide the inspiration for the work. Woodlice are one of nature’s success stories, having existed virtually unchanged for over 100 million years. Unsung heroes they are perfectly content going about their business as nature’s street cleaners, unobtrusively tidying up the planet…
