Long, Rachael

For the last 30 years, Rachael’s main preoccupation has been nature, animals, and birds made from recycled and forged steel. Through heat and imagination, she has an almost alchemical ability to transform cold, solid machine-made shapes into living, moving creatures. Saying as much as possible with as little material—the negative spaces are key to our viewing of the subject.
