Sally Fawkes

Sally Fawkes’ ‘Time Traces’ present a narrative of place, each unique to a location. Exploring a site, Sally observes the long entwined relationship between nature and humans. As she walks she carves ‘traces’ of time into a palm sized wax model. Returning to her studio she makes individual solid glass casts of the original carved wax. Akin to a pebble in the pocket, ‘Time Traces’ are precious tactile memories of ‘place’. Celebrating 30 years of Fresh Air Sculpture, ‘Fresh Air Quenington Trace’ is a precious, tactile memory of Quenington Old Rectory Gardens as captured by the artist Sally Fawkes.
